Maintenance & Turnaround Services
Corrosion & Abrasion Solutions Ltd. (CASL) has the ability to complete industrial coating projects on-site to any customer specification. With CASL’s premium equipment and staff trained in both metal and liquid coatings, we have the ability to mobilize/demobilize quickly, and interchange roles and processes on-site, saving our customers time and money. One mobilization for multiple coating applications means we can execute a project on time and more cost effectively than having multiple contractors completing the same work.
What’s more, our experience with a broad array of industries means better solutions for you. We’ve worked in every major industrial environment to protect from the damaging effects of corrosion such as:
- Gas Processing
- Pulp and Paper
- Power Generation
OIL AND GAS
- Oilsands Extraction
- Oilsands Upgraders
- Oilsands In-situ
- Tank farms
- Internal Diameter (ID) – In-situ, Straight Run Pipe (SRP), Elbows
- Outside Diameter (OD) – Integrity Digs, Straight Run Pipe (SRP), Elbows
- Coal, gold, mineral and oilsands
WE CAN PROVIDE THESE SERVICES FOR A VARIETY OF ON-SITE PROJECTS SUCH AS:
- Facility Maintenance

Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) and Corrosion Under Fireproofing (CUF)
CUI and CUF are forms of localized external corrosion that occur in carbon and low alloy steel components that have been insulated or fireproofed. CUI is most common in refineries and process plants that typically operate equipment at high temperatures, while CUF is most common in areas where fireproofed components are exposed to rain, snow, wash cycles or poor drainage.
CUI and CUF occur when the following conditions coexist: steel, water and air. Atmospheric moisture, process variations, leaks and maintenance cause moisture accumulation on the components that are virtually impossible to eliminate. CASL’s solution is to change the chemical/electrical reaction causing the corrosion by:
- Applying a non-metallic barrier coating to the steel that prohibits the reaction from occurring through paint or epoxy.
- Applying a metallic barrier coating to the steel to provide a physical barrier to the water and to significantly change the corrosion reaction.
CASL’s custom-built specialty equipment allows us to be completely self-contained and self-sufficient on any site. We are experienced in all types of field coatings including industrial structures and surfaces, tanks, pressure vessels, pipe, structural steel, floors and more. Our high capacity mobile units are equipped for plural and regular coatings, thermal spray and in-situ coating applications; which makes us one of the most versatile coating companies in Western Canada.
